Our Artificial Insemination Training Institute became functional from 20.10.2008 at Jagudan under the edges of Dudhsagar Research and Development Association (DURDA) with aim to prepare technicians for livestock breeding, focusing on breed improvement and dairy productivity, involving both theory and extensive hands-on practice (semen handling, Aritificial Insemination in cows/buffaloes).

Training is offered by our institute which leads to certification and self-employment opportunities to youth in enhancing livestock quality and milk yield. AI Training Institute has been accredited with “A” grade since 2021 and accredited by Central Monitoring Unit, a unit of DAHD, GOI

Expert faculties of different subjects like Semen station norms, Progeny Testing Project, Genomic Breeding, Embryo Transfer, Fertility Improvement Program, Calf Rearing Program, Farm consultancy, Ethno Veterinary, Mastitis prevention and control, Extension etc. are invited to teach our trainees during the classroom training period.

We are providing class room training, accommodation facility, library for learning, indoor games, outdoor games facility, clean and hygienic food (Breakfast, Lunch, Tea & Dinner) etc.

Certification & Licensing

After Successful completion of training, we offer a certificate.

This certificate allows the technician to get a license from the State Animal Husbandry Department to practice for Artificial Insemination, vaccination and First Aid practices.

Duration of training:

  • Class room training along with practical training : 30 working days
  • Field Practical training for AI & First Aid: 60 working days (under experienced AI technician)
  • 85% presence compulsory required for each trainee.

 

Admission norms

Qualification:

The participant of this program should have at least passed in 10th standard (SSC) examination

Age:

Minimum age criteria - 18 years

  • Introduction of A I and its importance in breed improvement
  • Female reproductive organ and their functions
  • Male reproductive organs and their functions
  • Normal reproductive cycle
  • Puberty, Maturity, Breeding, Fertilization, Implantation, Gestation and calving
  • Ideal calving interval
  • A I equipment use and their care
  • Proper thawing procedure
  • Proper A I gun loading procedure with S O P
  • Process of insemination with standard operating procedure (SOP)
  • Liquid nitrogen handling
  • Pregnancy diagnosis
  • Common reproductive disorder and their treatment
  • Factor affecting conception rate
  • Measures to obtain maximum fertility
  • Care and management of calf, heifer , pregnant, milking and dry pregnant animal
  • Basic aspect of nutrition and concept of ration balance feed
  • Basics of first aid in live stock
  • De worming and vaccination schedule
  • Software skill like Bharat Pashudhan or Amul Pashudhan

 

Tests during training:

Theory tests:

  • Two Written test at Ten days intervals on topics covered
  • Final written test at the end

Final practical test:

  • To evaluate the skill achieved

Specimen Identification Test:

  • To evaluate knowledge about AI related equipment.

Passing marks:

  • Minimum 50% marks in in each test including final test and practical skill
